Queer mourning through a process of becoming-animal
Grotowski Training performs a queer form of mourning. A dog has died. The dog's name is "Delma or Grotowski": a dog that comes neither when called Delma nor when called Grotowski. After Delma or Grotowski disappears, Carol skips school to trace the dog's whereabouts. Carol’s friends follow Carol; Carol follows Delma or Grotowski. And Delma or Grotowski, from the floor beneath a nearby floor, hears the sound of another dog dying.
The school does not accept Carol's reason for being absent. After all(결국), it recognizes only two legitimate grounds for absence: a death in the family, and (or) the student's own illness.
Delma or Grotowski tells Carol to submit their own death certificate.
Grotowski Training is a performance without a stage, made up entirely of seating. The theater is filled with seats from which (that) no one can see everything, or everywhere.
